South Australians can now access up to a $6,000 rebate on home batteries thanks to the state government’s new home battery scheme.
The subsidy applies to battery packs, which are installed and hook into existing solar panels (if you don’t have these, they would need to be purchased separately).
The battery packs work by storing excess generation from your solar panels during the day providing stored energy to be used when the sun goes down.
The subsidy is available to all South Australians, and calculated on the kilowatt hour capacity of the battery purchased – the bigger the battery, the bigger the rebate available, up to $6000.
